 PRODUCTS

Indicated below is a selection of the recent projects undertaken by Epsilon Compliance. These projects show the diversity of the engineering skills provided by Epsilon’s engineers to our customers in a wide range of industries.

Thermo Electron

ATEX Certification, CE Marking and Total Compliance Management of over 40 product types including Flameproof, Purge and Intrinsic Safety. Epsilon are also conducting the UL (North American) testing in parallel with our UL testing to provide simultaneous and cost effective ATEX, CE and UL Certification as a one-stop-shop.

Barloworld Scientific

CE Marking and Total Compliance Management of over 70 diverse products including shakers, heaters, furnaces and complex laboratory testing equipment. Epsilon work with Barloworld Scientific to ensure project managed 'on time' delivery in the most cost effective way.

Varco Drilling System

This project involved the ATEX category 2 (Zone 1) electrical and non-electrical certification of a range of drilling tools. The project involved the upgrading of existing electrical certification to ATEX requirements and the first time assessment and ATEX certification of all the non-electrical parts (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, etc)  of the drilling tools. Again this project was undertaken with the minimum drain on the client’s resources and therefore minimum affect on the client’s core business.

National Oil well

Complete ATEX Certification and CE marking of a specific Top Drive (drilling) package installed in Europe.

SMB – IMODCO (final client Chevron)

This project was undertaken onboard the ‘Kuito’ FPSO offshore in Angola . The work involved the onsite assessment, testing and certification and an ABB induction motor, gas injection compressor and variable speed drive combination installed in a Zone 2 hazardous area. This was an unusual project as the equipment had been installed prior to it being certified. Normally the equipment is certified before installation.

Alstom Turbines (Siemens)

ATEX Certification of Gas Turbine equipment equipment to ATEX CAT 2 including the conversion of all their associated design drawings from hardcopy to CAD files. In addition, Epsilon has certified a full GT package to ATEX CAT 3.

PFP Limited

This project involved the ATEX certification of a large range of Zone 1 ‘Flameproof’ control stations.  We were able to certify the complete range under a single ATEX certificate. The certificate allows for flexibility in the equipment that can be installed in the control station enclosures. This was a marked difference to the method under which the enclosure had been previously certified. Formerly, the range had been covered by a number of certificates which had no flexibility concerning equipment that was allowed to be installed within the enclosures. This meant that each time a change was made to the enclosures content a variation to the certificate was required – which incurred additional certification costs and time to market delays. We were able, with our approach to certification, to significantly reduce the client’s costs for certification under their ATEX certificate.

Silvertech Systems, Inc (final client Shaffer/Varco)

Epsilon provided ATEX CAT2 (Zone 1) certification and CE marking of a ‘Blow Out Prevention’ (BOP) control system. The system consisted of a number of purged and pressurised control cabinets.  The testing and assessment work was conducted by Epsilon’s engineers both in Houston, Texas and the ULSAN shipyards in South Korea . Epsilon also, provided a methodology that allowed the control system to continue to operate even in the event of purge gas failure.
